The beauty of the trees, the softness of the air, the fragrance of the grass, speaks to me.

The summit of the mountain, the thunder of the sky, the rhythm of the sea, speaks to me.

The faintness of the stars, the freshness of the morning, the dewdrop on the flower, speaks to me,

And my heart soars.

About Jessica Riederer

My love for animals and photography began at a young age and has shaped who I am today. I was fortunate to grow up on the beautiful island of Bermuda, surrounded not only by a household full of pets but also a landscape of pink beaches, coral reefs and clear seas. Since my childhood, I have had the opportunity to travel to and spend time in some truly awe inspiring locations. I am eternally grateful for any opportunity I have to immerse myself in a beautiful, quiet and wild place.

I purchased my first SLR camera in 2007, a Sony alpha 200 with a 70-300 mm lens. In 2013 I received from my parents the best Christmas present I could have ever wished for - a Canon 70d camera with 100 - 400 mm lens. All the images seen on my website have been taken with either one of these two cameras.

I find photography, especially wildlife photography, as challenging as it is rewarding. Trying to photograph wildlife is difficult for many reasons. Wild animals are generally difficult to approach - if ever an animal is moving in my direction as opposed to away from me - this is always reason to celebrate. Also, the wildlife photography market is full of photoshopped images. In many cases the 'wild' animals seen in photos are not wild but trained animals performing for photographer purposes. My goal is to take authentic shots - if I am photographing an animal that is not wild, I will always mention that in my titles.

A special thank you to my parents as well as my extended family and friends for their love and support and for encouraging me to showcase my images and share my passion with others.
